A beautiful stone possessing blends of pink, reddish, purple and earthy-brown hues complimented by intrusions of stark black, rhodonite is a stone foiund in a few places in New Zealand, and has high regard both here and internationally as an inexpensive jewellery stone. This piece of rhodonite was found in the Akatore area near Dunedin, Otago, and the form it has been carved into is a curved, flowing trigon showing a pale pink hue contrasted with striking, moss-like black patterning.
 
Measuring in at 77mm long and 35mm wide, the form of this piece allows it to sit comfortably against the skin but rise boldly above it. Its high gloss and striking patterns make it an amazing piece that you feel you want to sit and gaze at for hours.
