A stone unique to the Mahitahi/Bruce Bay area in New Zealand and found nowhere else in the world, aotea is a blend of the minerals kyanite (blue), fuchsite (green) and quartz (white). Considered by the local Makaawhio people to be more sacred than jade, it's believed to be a healing stone and is much prized.
 
Measuring in at 80mm long and 27mm wide at its widest point, this pendant's curves flow eloquently over the body, creating a form that fits neatly into the cleft of the chest and draws the eye. Its strong white background hue shows off the blue-green speckling of the kyanite and fuchsite in the stone exquisitely. A lovely piece for special occasion wear.
