Coming principally in tones of greens and blues, tangiwai or bowenite is a type of serpentine that has a tendency to occasionally display the rippling silvery light effect throughout the body of the stone known as chatoyancy. This effect makes the jewellery crafted from it alsmost seem to have a liquid quality, and to move as its exposure to the light shifts. This piece has a bluish background tone, and its chatoyancy runs the full length of the pendant from its tip to its base.
 
Measuring in at 80mm long and 19mm wide, this pendant is a long, slender and lightweight piece suited to pretty much any wearer, and would look most striking in company with fancy wear.
