Though appearing very uniform in initial appearance, this dark but softly-toned jade from the Arahura River, when viewed closely, shows the tell-tale circular patterns of a botryoidal jade specimen. Its creamy outer sections show these markings off most clearly; but far from being vividly-coloured as many botryoidal jades are, this one has a more sedate hue fading from a dark grey-green through to the frostier outer material of the stone.
Measuring in at 56mm in diameter, this is a sizable pendant suited to the larger wearer, with a colour-scheme that suits both formal and everyday wear.
