A rare occurrence indeed, this lovely 'reverse roimata' pendant is what we in the industry refer to as a picture jade - a piece of jade whose pattern is immediately discernible as a picture in the viewer's mind. This piece immediately reminds the viewer of a narrow river flowing through the land. Technically a dendritic kokopu due to its singular cluster of dendrites on its upper right side, the colour tones of the stone fall far more generally into the classification of inanga or whitebait jades - pale greys, greens and silvers.

Measuring in at 73mm long and 21mm wide at its widest point, this piece is slender and very lightweight, so suitable for even the most delicate wearer. Its high gloss shows off the riverine pattern flowing through it to spectacular effect, and its pale tones make it an excellent piece to wear as contrast to darker formal wear. Its picture doesn't immediately jump out at viewers from a distance, but is more than a little apparent to anyone who gets close enough. A piece sure to draw attention and admiration.
