While nephrite jade is most well-known for its shades of green in most of the world, it comes in a very wide range of colours. Among the more underappreciated tones that it can take are various hues of grey - a tone that seems less than exciting, but actually serves as a perfect complementary colour to all others. This makes the grey jades an exceedingly versatile jewellery option.

This example of grey jade was found in the Hokitika River, and it's been worked into a simple pebble-form pendant, giving it a natural feel that works well for everyday wear. Measuring in at 57mm long and 41mm wie at its widest point, this is a great piece of inexpensive jewellery to complement any outfit.
