A gently curved and elegantly-weighted pendant of simple form, this lovely piece was carved from an extremely dense and richly-patterned piece of jade found in the Big Bay region of the South Westland jade deposit. The stone showcases both olive and light green patches, with some darker totoweka-browns and a gentle smattering of the fine black pepper-specks of magnetite and pyrite, for which stone from this deposit is so well-known.
 
Measuring in at 69mm long and 36mm wide at its widest point, this piece is thicker than most and yet still beautifully translucent despite that added depth. It's definitely a piece suited to the lover of the large, and a piece that will stand out against any outfit with which it's worn.
