Coming from only a small region on the Hokitika River, this variegated bowenite showcases white veins of bowenite through the more common blue-green bowenite base material. It has a slight degree of translucency, but is most notable in this example for its bold and striking juxtaposition of tones.
 
Measuring in at 54mm long and 50mm wide, this pendant was shaped to accommodate the natural form of the river pebble from which it was carved. Its contrasting tones make it a great contrast piece to accompany and throw a splash of life into formal wear, but its robust nature makes it an excellent piece for everyday wear as well..
